January 16: Bookish Goals for 2024

1) In 2023 – Buy less books and borrow from the library more. I am trying to reduce book clutter. And even though reading a library book halts reading my TBR, at least I give the book back when I am finished. 
In 2024 – I still want to do this, but more with books that are part of a series or a trilogy. I have lots of books that are the first book and to continue I’ll borrow them. But that will still halt reading my TBR.  

2) In 2023 – If I really loved the book and want to own it, I should get it digitally. Preferably as an audiobook, if the narrator is good. Otherwise, as an ebook. 
In 2024 – I don’t think I’ll do this because even digitally I don’t want to accumulate too much. I already have a lot to listen to.

3) In 2023 – Give away more books. To reduce the clutter. If I didn’t love it, pass it on to someone who might. 
In 2024 – this applies to the TBR that after I read them I’ll give them away. 

4) In 2023 – Keep up my momentum of listening to audiobooks so that I can get it down to a manageable library and I don’t let them build up again.
In 2024 – Stop looking at sales and buying so many. Listen everyday at 1.2x speed.

5) In 2023 – Read the standalone stories on my TBR first. I don’t want to get sucked into a series because that halts the dwindling of the TBR. So once I am done with the standalone stories then I can start on the trilogies, and then the longer series. 
In 2024 – I have too many books that are not standalone stories. And I read based on mood so if I read a book and love it I’ll get the sequels from the library. This will stall reading the TBR. If I don’t like it, off with their heads! HA, no I’ll give it away. 

6) In 2023 – Review all the audiobooks. Even if I don’t have much to say and it is only 2-3 sentences. The reviews don’t have to be on the blog, but at least on Goodreads and Audible.
In 2024 – Same.
