Top Ten Tuesday September 4: Bingeworthy TV Shows

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.

Updates are now at That Artsy Reader Girl.

September 4: Bingeworthy TV Shows/Movies (The new fall TV season is starting up this month, so let’s talk about what shows everyone should watch when they’re not reading!)

I am not much of a binger. In fact, I am trying to cut down my TV schedule to have more time to read, listen to audiobooks and work on my artwork.

These are the few shows I have binged.

1. The Crown – Netflix, currently two seasons.
I am going to miss Claire Foy and Matt Smith. They had the best chemistry. And John Lithgow in the first season as PM Churchill was the best unexpected perfect casting I have ever seen. And Queen Elizabeth’s and Princess Margaret’s costumes… divine.

2. Stranger Things – Netflix, currently two seasons.
I love all the 1980s references. And it’s a great suspense story.

3. Westworld – HBO, currently two seasons.
I binged the first season when I had HBO. Loved that twist! Did not see that coming! Now that I don’t have HBO anymore I have to find time to get the free trial of the app to binge season 2.

4. Battlestar Galactica (2004 TV series) – Sci-Fi, Ended with 4 seasons.
This was my first binge! I caught the season 1 finale on TV and was intrigued. Then I started watching the second season but was confused so I waited. The I got the DVDs for the first season and binged to catch up. It was a great mix of sci-fi, action, mythology, politics, and drama. I have all the season on DVD and always say I am going to do a rewatch binge but then get too busy. One day.

5. Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Cartoon Network, Netflix, Disney Streaming. Ended with 6 seasons.
It’s coming back!!!! It was prematurely cancelled when Disney took over prompting the hashtag Save The Clone Wars. Well it worked and in 2019 we’ll get 12 new episodes of Season 7 to be released on Disney’s direct-to-consumer streaming service.

So I better plan a binge rewatch of the first 6 seasons plus the Lost Episodes!

6. Star Wars: Rebels – Disney XD – Ended with 4 seasons.
I did not appreciate this show so much in the beginning. I was still angry The Clone Wars was cancelled, but I grew to love the characters. Especially Hera and Sabine, who are strong female characters. I feel I should go back and watch the early episodes to relive all the characters’ developments.

7. Looking forward to binging A Discovery of Witches – Sundance Streaming in the US, Currently 1 season.

In September this will air in the UK on Sky One. In the US we have to wait until early 2019 where it will stream on a Sundance TV service. I really want to see it so maybe I can get a free trial. All 8 episodes will be available at once.
